Basher Films
Basher Films is the culmination of 5 years of creative collaboration between owners Chris Hall and Phan Tran. Both keenly interested in visual storytelling and the aesthetics of film and video production, the two have worked on dozens of projects together from feature films, broadcast productions, short-form narratives, music videos, feature documentaries, and more. Basher Films was formed in 2007 as a result of both partners wanting to form a dedicated organization that could utilize their combined resources to reach a larger target audience in the marketplace; both in production and post production capacities. The company was an earlier investor in the Red Digital Cinema Camera and serviced numerous productions with camera rentals, DIT work, and complete production package services..

In 2009 Basher Films shifted its focus entirely to Color Correction and Post-Production finishing and the Basher Films grading suite at the live/work lofts at 456 Flats in Pasadena, CA was fully up and running by the end of that year. Eventually founding partner Phan Tran decided to pursue his photography interests full time and left Basher to follow his love for the art of the still (see Phan's new endeavor at http://phantranphotography.com). Now, Chris runs Basher as the sole owner and colorist. Basher has color corrected, onlined, and conformed numerous feature films, national commercial spots, broadcast pieces, music videos, shorts, and web content. Basher also services larger post production houses as Chris is often called in to grade at outside facilities.

Chris Hall - Owner / Colorist / Online Editor

Chris Hall has been a working colorist and cinematographer in Los Angeles since 2006. Chris graduated from North Park University in Chicago, with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Theatre in 2001. Upon graduating he was accepted into the Masters Production Program at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. After completing his Master's degree in 2007 and beginning work as a freelance DP, Chris also founded Basher Films, a small boutique production/post production company, to run parallel with his cinematography career. Specializing in RED Camera production and post production Basher Films serviced numerous productions with Red Camera Rentals, data management, as well as full online and color correction services. In addition to this service capacity, Basher Films has produced, shot, edited, onlined, and color corrected short form content for numerous clients including CNN and Alice Waters' Slow Food Nation. Eventually color correction became Chris' primary passion and since 2009 Chris has been color correcting full time for clients of Basher Films. Chris is also a regular colorist at Bandito Brothers in Culver City, CA. Currently, Chris resides in Pasadena, California with his wife Rachel.
